About consignment tracking

Learn how to assign and manage stock at your external locations

The Consignment tracking feature is used to track inventory sold from consignment locations. Consignments are typically used in order to transfer product inventory to third-party sellers for eventual sale.

Locations are used in order to contain details about your consignment locations.

Transfers are used to move stock to an external location and to return stock to your Main warehouse. When a transfer is created, the stock is allocated to the location and is removed from your Available stock inventory totals.

The total stock allocated to external locations can be found via the Locations tab on your product and variation detail pages.

When a consignee sells stock, an order for the location should be created containing the sold stock. This will decrease the available stock on hand and also increase the sold count for the location.

While consigned, your product stock is still considered part of your inventory totals. Your product inventory stock is decreased only when sold from the external location.

Note: Consignment features are only available in our  Studio and Indie plans.

Locations can be added to represent each of your consignees - this allows you to assign stock to the location and track sales from this source, giving you a complete picture of your consignment stock activity.

A code and name are both required in order to uniquely identify each location that you create. Address details and notes can also be configured for each location.

Once a location has been created, you can then transfer any product to it via a Transfer.

Add different prices for each of your consignment locations

Custom prices for consignees can be configured by creating a  Pricing Tier and then associating it with a Location. This will allow for Price Points to be created for the tier, which will appear in your  Product Location Report.

Please see  How do I set a pricing tier for a location? for details.
