Resetting your password

To change your password, use the Forgot Password link on the sign-in page:

  1. Make sure you are logged out by clicking Log Out at the top right of the navigation bar.
  2. Click the Sign In link.
  3. On the sign-in page, click Forgot your password? (located directly under the Password field).
  4. Enter the email address you signed up with.
  5. Click Reset Password.

You'll receive an email containing a secure link to reset your password. This link is valid for 48 hours.

When you open the link, enter your new password and click Reset password. If your new password doesn't meet the requirements, you'll be returned to the reset form with a message explaining what to fix.

If you have configured Security Questions on your account, you'll be asked to answer both of your selected questions before setting your new password. (Set up Security Questions)

Password requirements

All Craftybase passwords must meet the following requirements:

  • At least 12 characters long
  • Not a commonly used password (e.g. "password123" or "qwerty")
  • Not a password that has appeared in a known data breach

As you type your new password on the signup or reset pages, a strength meter shows you how strong it is:

  • Too short — your password is under 12 characters and cannot be saved
  • Moderate — your password meets the minimum length but uses only one type of character (e.g. only letters)
  • Strong — your password meets the minimum length and uses a mix of at least two character types (uppercase letters, numbers, or symbols)

You don't need to reach "Strong" to save your password — "Moderate" is accepted. Aim for "Strong" for the best account protection.

Troubleshooting

Having trouble receiving your reset email?

If you've requested your password reset email and haven't received it, try these steps:

  1. Check your spam and junk folders — reset emails can sometimes be filtered there.
  2. Add Craftybase to your email contacts or Safe Sender list to help future emails reach your inbox.

Why was my password rejected?

Your password may be rejected for one of two reasons:

  • "is too common" — the password you chose appears on a list of widely used passwords. Choose something more unique and try again.
  • "has appeared in a data breach" — the password has been found in a known data breach database. This is checked securely against the HaveIBeenPwned service. Choose a different password and try again.

If your password is rejected, you'll be returned to the reset form with an alert message explaining the issue. Simply choose a new password that meets all the requirements and try again.
