Connect Amazon with Craftybase

Learn how Craftybase imports your Amazon data.

This article will guide you through how to connect to Amazon, and what types of data we can import into your Craftybase account.

AmazonHandmade is an artisan-only community on Amazon where artists and crafters can sell their unique, one-of-a-kind products to customers around the world.

Our Amazon ➝ Craftybase integration allows you to import your products and orders from this channel, so that you can be sure that your inventory levels are always automatically factoring in sales from this source.

Connect to Amazon

To connect your Amazon store to Craftybase, follow the directions in our help article: Connect your Amazon store »

It is recommended that you always create your products on Amazon where possible and then import them to create as products in Craftybase. This means that your external references will be correct from the start and you will not need to do any merging between your manually created products and imported ones.

Once you have your connection successfully created, imports from Amazon will occur automatically each day, at 5am in your local time zone. You can also run a manual import if required between the daily scheduled imports. Your first import will, by default, attempt to download all data from your Account Start Date.

Amazon Products

Products on your Amazon store will be imported as both Products and Listings in Craftybase. Variations, however, will be imported as their own individual products. This is because of how Amazon has variations set up on their side. This integration is actively being developed so if this changes over time, then we will be updating the integration to accommodate this.

Regardless of the date range selected, Craftybase will import all products found on Amazon currently listed in your Product Data List. An attempt will be made to match existing products in Craftybase using the name as found on Amazon. If no match is found, a new product will be created on Craftybase (you can merge these together with your existing products if necessary using the instructions here: How do I merge products together?)

If you do not wish to track some of these imported products, once you have reconciled your stock to zero, you can archive these, and they will be removed from most views and reports.

Orders

All orders placed via Amazon in the time period selected by the import will be created in Craftybase. If an order has been placed earlier than 180 days ago then it will be unable to be imported into Craftybase as it no longer exists in the Amazon feed.

The Total Discount amount for the order will be calculated from any Promotion Adjustments applied to the order in Amazon.

The Total Tax amount for the order will be calculated from the Total Tax Withheld (Standard and Marketplace Facilitator) applied to the order in Amazon.

The Total Shipping amount for the order will be directly applied from the Shipping total applied to the order in Amazon.

Amazon FBA

If you use Amazon FBA, it is possible to nominate a location to be used for all orders imported from the channel. This feature is available on eligible plans; see more details about automatically deducting orders from a specific location here: Set a Default Location for Imported Orders.

Fees and Charges

Commission and fulfillment fees directly associated with an order will be imported as long as it was generated less than 180 days ago. If a fee or charge is older than 180 days then it will be unable to be imported into Craftybase as it no longer exists in the Amazon feed.

Fees not directly related to an order will not be imported (e.g. FBA Inventory Storage Fee, Subscription Fees). Shipping and Shipping Label fees are also not available in our Amazon feed. These fees can be imported via our CSV bulk purchase import tool if required.

Customer Data

To comply with Amazon PII regulations, customer name, address, email and phone number details for orders shipped more than 30 days ago will be anonymized and/or removed from imported orders.

Note: Craftybase currently supports Amazon-US. Other regions may be added in the future.
