About your account settings

Learn how to configure your Craftybase account settings

When you first sign up for a Craftybase account, you can set your email address, name, country, and base currency. Instructions are in this article if you need to change any of these settings after this point.

We'll cover:

Finding your account settings page

To find your account settings page:

  1. Hover your mouse over the "slider" icon in the top right-hand menu
  2. Select the Account Settings option from the menu that appears.

Changing your inventory start date

Your Craftybase inventory start date, also known as your account start date, is when you want to begin tracking your inventory. While backdating is possible, we recommend starting on a date as close as possible to when you signed up for your Craftybase account or the start of the current month to minimize initial data entry. Setting your base currency

All prices and costs will be automatically displayed in your base currency. If you connect one or more Integrations and any of these are in a currency other than your base currency, an automatic currency conversion will be applied to orders.

For example, if your Shopify account is in CAD and your Craftybase account is in USD, then all sales from Shopify will be converted into USD using the relevant rate on the date the order was placed.

Craftybase only supports a single currency per account. A list of currently supported currencies can be found here: Supported currencies.

If expenses are not in your base currency, you should convert them at the historical daily rate at which the expense was accrued. You can find historical currency rates here: XE Historical Currency Rates.

You can only set your base currency when you first sign up. If you’ve made a mistake and would like to change your currency, please check our list of supported currencies to ensure we can accommodate this. If so, please contact us; we’ll happily change it.

If you have already connected Integrations to your account, the importer will automatically convert all amounts into your selected currency on your behalf. Therefore, all imported data must be removed before the currency switch occurs. This can be done automatically by removing your Integration connection.

Please be aware that if you have existing manually entered data, these amounts will not be automatically converted to the new currency—you will need to update them and convert them yourself manually.

Setting your overhead rate

Expenses for your business that are not directly related to a product or order (e.g., rent, utilities, and subscriptions) can also be tracked in Craftybase. These are known as "Overhead" expenses (however, they are also commonly referred to as indirect or general expenses). Learn more about overhead costs in Craftybase➝

Setting your internal labor rate

Your hourly work rate estimates how much internal labor per hour costs you when you make any of your products. It is used with your recipe and manufacture times to estimate your internal labor costs. Learn more about how Craftybase calculates internal labor costs here.

To change your hourly work rate:

  1. Navigate to your Account Settings page.
  2. Scroll down to the Internal Labor section and enter the new Internal Labor Rate.

Note: Please keep in mind that changing your work rate will not recalculate any labor costs for manufactures that have been created so far - the change will apply to any future manufactures you add. The hourly rate change will appear instantly on all recipes.

Allowing support access

Allowing support access gives the Craftybase staff read-only access to research and troubleshoot support issues.

How to enable support access:

  1. Go to your  Account Settings page
  2. On the form that appears, scroll down until you find the tick box called  Allow support access and make sure that this is ticked.

  3. Click the Save Details button at the bottom of the form.
