How Shopify billing works for Craftybase
If you installed the app through the Shopify App Store, your subscription is billed by Shopify — not directly by Craftybase. This means:
- Charges appear on your Shopify invoice, not as a separate Craftybase charge.
- Cancellation must be done through your Shopify admin — you can't cancel from inside the app.
- Uninstalling the app from Shopify automatically cancels your subscription.
Subscribed directly at craftybase.com instead of via the Shopify App Store? Your billing is managed differently — see Manage your Craftybase subscription for those steps.
Cancelling your subscription via Shopify
To cancel, uninstall the app from your Shopify store:
- Log in to your Shopify admin.
- Go to Settings in the bottom-left of the page.
- Select Apps and sales channels.
- Find the app in your list of installed apps.
- Click the ⋮ (three dots) menu next to the app and select Uninstall.
- Confirm the uninstall when prompted.
Once uninstalled, Shopify will stop billing you and your Craftybase subscription will be cancelled automatically.
Tip: To confirm billing has stopped, go to Settings > Billing in your Shopify admin and check your upcoming charges.
Troubleshooting
I'm still being charged after uninstalling
If you're still seeing a Craftybase charge on your Shopify invoice after uninstalling the app, this is usually caused by a delay in Shopify's billing cycle. In rare cases, a failed webhook can prevent the cancellation from being processed on our end.
Important: Don't reinstall the app to try to fix this — follow the steps below and contact support so we can stop the billing on our end.
Confirm the app is uninstalled
- In your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Apps and sales channels.
- Check that the app no longer appears in your installed apps list.
If it's still listed, follow the steps in Cancelling your subscription via Shopify above.
Check your active subscriptions
- In your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Billing.
- Look under Subscription charges (or App subscriptions, depending on your Shopify version) for any active Craftybase charge.
If a Craftybase subscription is still listed here, the charge hasn't been cancelled on Shopify's side.
Contact our support team
If the app is uninstalled but charges are continuing, get in touch with us and include:
- Your Shopify store domain (e.g.
yourstore.myshopify.com) - The email address on your account
- A screenshot of your Shopify billing page showing the active charge
We'll investigate and make sure the billing is stopped.
FAQ
Will I lose my data after cancelling?
Your account and data are retained for a period after cancellation. If you change your mind, you can resubscribe and pick up where you left off. After an extended period of inactivity, your account and data will be permanently deleted in line with our data retention policy.
Can I get a refund for charges after I uninstalled?
Shopify manages all billing for apps installed via the App Store. For refund requests, contact our support team with your Shopify store domain and details of the charge — we'll work with you to resolve it.
I only want to disconnect Shopify, not cancel my subscription
If you want to keep your Craftybase subscription but remove the Shopify connection, don't uninstall the app — instead, disconnect the integration from within the app. See Connect Shopify with Craftybase for details on managing your Shopify integration.
