About quantity types

A Quantity Type is a type of unit of measurement you can use to describe the amounts of stock in your inventory. Examples are: Gram, Inch, Skein, Fat Quarter, Bunch

You can add any measurement units you wish to use. Using Quantity Types from our list of standard units will automatically complete some conversions for you.

Editing the quantity type

To edit a quantity type:

  1. Move your mouse cursor over the settings icon located in the top right corner of the page.

  2. Click the 'Quantity Types' from the drop-down menu.

  3. Click the 'Edit' button to the right of the quantity type you wish to edit.

  4. Change the name of the quantity type in the form that appears and then click the 'Save' button.



Merging together quantity types

  1. Navigate to your Quantity Types page (How do I find my Quantity Types page?)
  2. On the page that appears, select the quantity types you wish to remove using the checkboxes next to each quantity type.
  3. Select the Merge into… option from the Batch tools option in the bottom left corner of the page.

  4. Select the quantity type you wish to merge these into (this will be the one you want to keep).
  5. Click the Update button, and the merge will be performed.
