Troubleshooting your Etsy integration
How to troubleshoot common issues with your Etsy integration.
Having trouble getting your Etsy connected? Here are a few things you can try yourself!
We'll cover:
- Why are my Listings not importing?
- Why is my imported Etsy order showing the wrong product?
- Why are my totals not matching Etsy?
- I have duplicate listings between Etsy and Shopify
- My stock levels aren't updating on Etsy. What should I do?
Why are my Listings not importing?
If you cannot locate one or more of your listings from a pull, this may be due to listings having identical titles at the time of pull. We match listings to products from titles during our pulling process and create new products only when we find unique titles, so you may find multiple listings under one product if they have the same name.
To check that this is the case:
- Navigate to your Product's Listings tab
- View the listings located in this list.
- From here, if you find your listing and you wish to move it from this product to a different one, you can follow the process outlined here: How do I move a Listing to a new Product?
If you still can't find the listing here:
- Navigate to your Listings page
- You can use the search box on the left-hand side of the page - this accepts Listing IDs & Keywords
If you still cannot locate your Listing, please feel free to get in touch with our support team, and they will happily investigate this further for you. If possible - providing Listing IDs for your missing items will also help us locate them faster for you
Why is my imported Etsy order showing the wrong product?
If an Etsy listing has been edited to represent a different product, orders pulled into the app will still use the same Listing ID to display product information. Since the app matches listings and products using this unique ID, this can result in an order showing the original product instead of the updated one.
It is against Etsy TOS to reuse a listing for a different product, so it is important to ensure that you create a new listing for each separate product you make. If the product is similar to an existing one, consider using Etsy Variations instead to track those small differences under the same listing.
To fix an order that has been imported under the wrong product:
- Check which listing is assigned to the product.
- If it's incorrectly linked, move the listing to the correct product by following the steps found here: How do I move a listing to a new product?
Tip: Creating new listings instead of reusing old ones helps maintain accurate reporting and stock tracking across your Etsy store and products.
Why are my totals not matching Etsy?
There are a few common reasons why totals may differ between your account and Etsy:
- Currency Differences: Etsy lists all sales in the currency the order was placed in (usually USD). If your account is set to track in a different currency, sales are automatically converted using European Central Bank historical exchange rates, which can fluctuate over time.
- Revenue Calculation Differences: Shipping and tax are included in your Gross Revenue totals, while Etsy's Shop Stats usually exclude these amounts - which can make your total appear higher.
- Sales Counts: Each item sold (quantity) is counted individually, rather than individual orders.
- Billing Cycle Timing: Etsy closes its monthly billing cycle at 12:00 AM UTC on the 1st of each month, so any charges generated after this cutoff are included in the next month's bill. Since the app pulls charges as they occur, your totals may differ slightly if fees were generated near that cutoff.
I have duplicate listings between Etsy and Shopify
If you're seeing duplicated orders between your Etsy and Shopify integrations, it's likely because one integration is pulling the other's orders (for example, importing Etsy into Shopify).
To remedy this:
- Decide which platform should primarily send orders directly to the app.
- Disconnect the secondary integration to avoid double pulls.
You can either:
- Disconnect one integration from the app.
- Disconnect the integrations from each other within Etsy or Shopify (recommended)
Once you've fixed the connection, you can remove any duplicated orders following this guide.
Tip: Connecting each integration directly to the app rather than pulling through another platform can help avoid duplication.
My stock levels aren't updating on Etsy. What should I do?
If you're expecting stock to be pushed to your Etsy inventory but nothing's changing, here are a few things to check:
- Is Stock Push enabled for Etsy?: Stock levels can be pushed back to Etsy using the Stock Push feature - but only if it's turned on. Head to your Integration page and ensure Stock Push is enabled for your Etsy integration. If its not enabled, you can follow the steps to setup Etsy for Stock Push here!
- Is your product correctly linked?: For stock to sync, the product must be linked to the correct Etsy listing and variant. Check your products Listings tab to ensure it is matched correctly.
- Has stock changed in the app?: Stock Push only triggers when inventory changes in the app (via manufactures, stock adjustments, or new orders). If no recent inventory changes have occurred, no stock push will be triggered.
- Are there any sync errors?: Visit your Stock Push page to check for any failed push attempts or warnings that could be blocking updates.
For any other questions relating to Stock Push that might not be mentioned here, our dedicated Etsy Stock Push article goes more in-depth on troubleshooting these potential issues!
